Hello, my name is Diego Pereda, I am a Venezuelan living in Rochester New York (USA) with my beautiful wife Sughey.
The idea for this blog came to me as I was looking for information on the Way of Saint James or Camino de Santiago. Surfing the web I found many personal blogs of people that had traveled the camino and I thought it would be a neat idea to create a blog to keep information about this adventure in one place.
I hope to start my trip this June 2008 from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France towards Santiago de Compostela in the Province of Galicia in western Spain. The trek will be approximately 800 kilometers or 500 miles and I expect it will take me 10 days on my mountain bike. We will see…
The main page of this site is a blog where every week I hope to write at least one story related to this trip (one in English and one in Spanish) Some of the stories will touch upon my training and some will touch upon the flights and the trip from Rochester to France, and of course the trip along the Camino and lastly the return trip home. I am sure there will be many interesting stories.If you have a suggestion on a topic that you will like for me to cover feel free to use this blog to tell me so. Comment on any of my posts or stories and I will try to write about the suggested topic. I hope you enjoy comming along for this journey with me.
